Gratitude

Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.

–Cicero (106-43 BC)

I find the best way to start the day and the best way to end the day are the same: thinking of all that I am grateful for. Exercises in gratitude keep life in perspective. I find that the great results and events in a given day far outnumber the failings and flailings of that day yet the perspective can often be shifted towards the negative. Great leaders realize that gratitude within their organization is crucial to team success. Besides, don’t you find that grateful people are more fun to spend time with? Think of some of your favorite people to spend time with. Are they grateful? How can you show gratitude to those around you?

Happy Thanksgiving.
